Things To Do:
Georgetown Lake: Travel time 5 minutes. Multiple public access points for fishing and water sports. Try the west side of the lake for fishing (Comer’s Point), good fly fishing in and around the smaller bays. Wade fish or float tube for best access. Winter ice fishing is a great option, go where you see other people. Kokanee salmon are a target species this time of year. Water sports head for Red Bridge Access or Piney Point.
Rock Creek: Travel time 30 minutes, travel west of Philipsburg on highway ??, Blue ribbon trout stream, this one is really world class. Multiple access points along the river, great fly fishing, easy water to read and hold eager cutthroats. Can be fished all season long, good early season destination.
Discovery Ski Area: Travel time 15 minutes northwest of Georgetown Lake, great hill, three chairs with multiple runs for all levels of experience. Great value and great snow. 406-563-2184 www.skidiscovery.com
Anaconda Pintlar Wilderness: Travel time 5 to 20 minutes depending on destination. 150,000 acres literally out of the back door. Great day hikes in the local area. Try Storm Lake, Twin Lake, or Barker Lake.

Anaconda Community County Club: Travel Time 30 minutes. Great, well developed 18 hole course. Big trees, some water, this one is a great value and you won’t have to wait for a tee time, local gem. 406-797-3220

Gem Mountain Sapphire Prospecting: Travel time 20 minutes on highway. Great family outing, prospect for sapphires at Gem Mountain. Inexpensive fun and just maybe you’ll find a treasure. 406-8594367
City of Anaconda: Travel time 15 minutes. Historical copper smelting community. Lots of history, great folks. This is your closest option for groceries and supplies. Safeway is on the west end of town and Albertson’s on the east.
City of Butte: Travel time 45 minutes. Historical copper mining community, Try the Berkley Pit, and the Museum of Mineralogical History located at Montana Tech. Go Diggers!
Town of Philipsburg: Travel time 15 minutes. Small gold mining village, restored with tourism in mind. Great shops, good place to spend the afternoon. Candy Store is town is a favorite destination.
Local Restaurants and Watering Holes:Brown Derby: Right next door, American cuisine. Great burgers and lunches.
7 Gables Restaurant: Local Georgetown Lake hang out. Try the fried chicken.
Sunshine Station: Located in Philipsburg, great breakfasts, and burgers. Good place to go for a beer after fishing Rock Creek.
Barclay’s II: Located in Anaconda, Steaks and seafood, traditional supper club. Try the tenderloin.
The Haufbrau: Located on the west side of Anaconda. Pizza joint, lots of games for the kids. Try the Haufbrau special pizza, lots of toppings including sauerkraut.
